We are ready. We packed our stuff, all of our items are packed in the truck. Our relocation can begin. But first we have to do a series of checks and before closing the door for the last time make sure we did not forget anything and that we are ready for the farewell. There is nothing worse than give up our old house only to remind later that you forgot to turn off the irrigation of grass or that we have forgotten the keys to locked 'inside.
- Check all water taps to ensure they are closed. This is particularly important if the new residents do not move in the same day of our movement are likely to be flooded home in case of leakage.
- Close all windows and doors, including garage and various wine cellars. Check all the locks and double check the windows to make sure that the house is safe from thieves or pseudo occupations.
- Check the washer / dryer, refrigerator and freezer if we leave them to future owners. That are empty and lifeless.
- Control the garden or the terrace of the house, we are not leaving anything?
- disconnect the heating, air conditioning, or better just unplug the power.
- Lights off, unless the agent or the owner has told us to leave the lights on for safety reasons, turn off all lights including lights outside.
- collect all sets of keys that we had around, or that we gave to parents or those who kept the house for us.
- Let's look at all the rooms for the last time to make sure you did not forget anything. We check all the closets, the attic, too. storage areas that often are forgotten. Check the refrigerator, stove, fireplace, the cabinets in the kitchen and back patio for any forgotten items.
Now you can close the door, good move.
